My husband and I are soup people. We love a delicious soup to warm our souls during the bracing, bitter winter. Just kidding. We live in Phoenix and the coldest it gets is like, 28 degrees Fahrenheit during the dead of night. BUT STILL! We love soup! I love how easy they are to make and it creates a cozy atmosphere and leftovers are almost always more delicious.
So it was important to us that we found some great ketogenic friendly soups this winter season! I’m thrilled to say that we have!
Broccoli Cheese Soup
This recipe is so simple to make! It uses minimal ingredients, including seasoning, but tastes phenomenal. My husband was surprised at how good it tasted. And we love that all the ingredients are budget friendly too!
To boost the flavor just a tad more, we bake up some bacon in the oven, chop it, and then throw some in our cups. It adds a wonderful depth of flavor and gives it an additional texture too.
This soup is hands down our favorite! Again, easy to make with minimal ingredients and tastes amazing! The Italian sausage provides all the seasoning this soup needs and the cream provides a silky texture to the broth. I normally don’t have the patience to drink the broth once I’m finished, but I do for this soup.
This recipe has been our least favorite thus far. It wasn’t bad at all, but we just found it weird that we were basically eating meat and broth. This recipe left us wanting beans like a traditional taco soup, unfortunately. However, it was very filling and had great flavor. If we make this soup again I may top my cup with some black olives.
