My Favorite Keto Desserts

One of my favorite things about the ketogenic diet is the fact that there are substitutes for just about anything. For me at least, when it comes down to sustainability of a new way of eating, not feeling deprived is key. So the fact that I can pretty much keto – yes, I do use it as a verb now – a version of anything is amazing.

And if you’ve known me for any amount of time, then you know that I have a voracious sweet tooth. That little sucker has done me in time and time again, especially during that time of the month. But I’m proud to announce that is no longer the case! Not only are my cravings under control, but when I do have them, the keto diet has an alternative that I can make.

As a word of warning, keto desserts are different. Sometimes sweeteners can have a funny after taste to some people, or sometimes people don’t like the texture of almond flour. But in the grand scheme of things, I like them as a whole and am more than happy to put up with a more dense dessert in the name of avoiding carbs.

I think fluff is my favorite dessert because it is simple, quick, relatively inexpensive, and easy enough to vary the flavors. Fluff is a package of sugar free pudding mix with two cups of heavy whipping cream, beat until thick and fluffy.

The flavors are endless if your store has a good enough selection of sugar free options. We also find we like it better if we prepare it a couple hours in advance and give it plenty of time to chill in the fridge.

Crustless Keto Cheesecakes

1-keto-cheesecake1This is one my husband isn’t too fond of, but that I really love. There’s lots of different recipes out there, but the one I use is this one. I went with this one initially because I had all the ingredients on hand, but I must say that I really like it.

The texture is creamy and very much like a traditional, sugary cheesecake. You can also change the flavor a bit by adding different extracts to the mix.

I don’t use a muffin pan though or muffin liners. I use a Pampered Chef Brownie Pan and spray it down with coconut oil really well. They lift away easily.

Like the fluff, these are best served chilled.

With the holidays approaching, I’m excited to experiment with baking more keto desserts! There is a pumpkin cheesecake recipe floating around that is calling my name!

If you maintain a keto diet, what are your favorite recipes and why?
